The opening ceremony of Training Course on Irrigation Development and Management Experience Sharing for Ethiopia Smallholders held in Beijing

On August 7, the Training Course on Irrigation Development and Management Experience Sharing for Ethiopia Smallholders, hosted by the World Bank and organized by our Center opened in Beijing. Sixteen participants from the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Resources as well as the World Bank Representative Office in Ethiopia attended the training in China. It is the first time that our Center has worked with the World Bank to organize its capacity building activities in China.

During the training activities, our Center expressed China’s willingness to further strengthen both knowledge and inclusive investment cooperation with Ethiopia and the World Bank to jointly promote common development in the fields of water conservancy, irrigation and agriculture. The irrigation and Drainage Center of the Ministry of Water Resources introduced the basic situation of irrigation development in China, and expressed its willingness of deepening the sharing and exchanges of experience with Ethiopia and the World Bank in the fields of water resource management, irrigation and drainage.

During the two-week training, the Ethiopian delegation will learn Chinese irrigation policy and management experience, and go to the water-saving irrigation base of Ministry of Water Conservancy and Gansu Province to pay a field visit to farmland irrigation facilities and related enterprises.
